I asked a wise friend:
How will I know 
I am following God’s will for
my life?

She smiled gently as she asked:
Is your mind calm 
and deep,
like a lake at the dawn of summer?
Is your heart full 
and warm,
as your skin feels when caressed by the sun?

In those moments – 
when your answer is 
YES,
you will see -
that the life you cling to
is not your own
and
that freedom 
will quiet 
the need to know.
