Joy

(aka: The Death of the Nag)

The Joy that flows through me –
as I renounce my will,
surrendering it to the
emptiness
it always produced –
that Joy
     lifts me
          lightens me
               awakens me
               and
          sees me
     only in
Love.
It refuses the nag
that mutters the lie:
“You renounce
only in your own selfishness,
knowing the Joy to come!”
and focuses my heart
on
     the
          One
          the
     One
I
     follow
          now
          Who sees me
     only in
Love.
