The Meadow

There is a lovely place
in the eternal depth
of my soul
where the sun always shines –
its warmth leveled to my liking
and
its light shining on the Truth.

In this place
lies a space of soft grasses
cooled by the Breath
of low and gentle breezes.
There, I see You
sitting
smiling
and
sensing my presence
which lifts Your smile
from contentment
to
pure Joy
the sight of which
brings me also
to
pure Joy.

What a gift!
What a blessing!
To see Your face at the sight of me!
To feel my heart at the sight of you!

I do not remember my first visit
to this meadow,
but I do remember the journey I took to find it –
all the dark turns
the cold, lonely days and nights of
self
devouring
self
until despair offered a refuge –
a place to rest
clean food to eat
fresh water to drink
a map to help me find my way –
to this lovely place
in the eternal depth
of my soul
where
the Son
always shines.

  1. Jessica, this is amazing!
No wonder why Ted loved it so much!
    It’s so vivid and inviting…
I’m actually going to print it out so I have it to read regularly.
Also, that picture I would love to have that picture. I’m going to look that up.
    Thanks for being youšŸ™šŸ»šŸ¤—ā™„ļø
