Dear God:
As this day draws near
as the sun rises behind clouds bursting with rain
as the birdsongs awaken our hearts anew – 
remind us of Your sovereignty,
and more importantly,
of your grace – 
because it is only there that we are fulfilled
it is only there that we are at peace.
This world offers too many distractions 
for us to remember any of that on our own.
So, I pray today, God, for Your mind to fill our hearts
and for our hearts to fill Your mind. 
Only there will we receive the longings of our souls.
