This morning’s meditations – 
after last night’s debacle – 
brought to the surface 
one question…

Would I have said that
or behaved in that manner
if Jesus 
was walking beside us? 

And now I know why
so many people 
who
want to follow
need to follow
and try to follow
with all their might
simply
fall
away…

Because truly walking 
with Jesus
interrupts all
rationalizations
resentments
self-righteousness
and
pride…

Truly walking 
with Jesus 
rips my veil 
of self-aggrandizement
leaving 
me
nowhere 
to
hide.
