For so long
the worship of your opinion 
enslaved me.
It made me buy things I could not afford
use manipulation as my sword
led me to harmful places
blocking paths to peaceful spaces
made maudlin my heart
and 
kept my soul and truth apart.
Now, 
as it tries to pull me back in
with shame, blame and confusion
I know only one thing for sure – 
your opinion is merely satan’s lure.
So, 
my prayer today is for the voice of my Lord
to rescue me from the lies of this world.
