a cup cannot help but spill over some of its contents –
and when jolted hastily,
whatever’s within will splash out and land
on unsuspecting surfaces nearby.
How it is moved, or by what force
is not up to the cup;
neither is the liquid concoction inside,
for it is just a cup.
