I offer
love
acceptance
tolerance
understanding,
and especially
the other cheek.
Yet, I still
stumble
over the expectation
that this will
soften the heart of another.
Silly me –
loving them
only works
to soften my heart,
and
only when
I love them
simply because
God loves me.
