Evolved

When I was a child,
You were a faceless Father,
and disciplinarian,
unknown
and
known,
but difficult to see,
except in the colors
of an autumn tree.
As my heart has evolved
and my soul only seeks
Your face does not matter,
Your truth yearns in me,
known
and
unknown,
only difficult to see
when I forget to gaze
at the leaves on a tree.
