To the broken heart of my teenaged self
a wise woman once said,
“Don’t worry, dear,
there is a lid for every pot.”
So many years later now,
I wonder –
did that wise woman know
the day would come when
my cupboards would be filled
with loads of plastic containers
and tons of lids that just don’t fit?
