I trust in you, God –
even when I’m doubting
wringing my hands with worry,
following the hamster
on the wheel of my mind,
entertaining the spinning webs
of the spider’s lies –
even then, God,
I trust in You –
so, please forgive me
for giving them my attention,
the hamster and the spider,
and bless me with strength
to grant them much needed rest
as I look to You instead.
