I see you in the vibrant death of the autumn leaves
and sudden birth of color in daffodils and Easter lilies.
I taste you in the burst of flavor from a Florida orange
and the warming calm of my morning coffee.
I feel you in the hug of a friend in need of comfort
and the purr of my cat by my side.
I hear you in the coo of the mourning dove, calling to her mate
and the symphony of crickets that fill the summer night.
I smell you in the safe memory of my grandfather’s cigar
and the luscious welcome home of pine needles on Christmas.
You are all the songs my ears ever hear
You are everything my eyes gaze upon
You are all the scents from all my days
You are everywhere my touch extends
You are all the tastes of joy and love
You are every day my everything.

A beautiful reminder.

Just read this to Carl. We both agree, this is a beautiful poem. He wants to know when you were coming out with a book of poetry?
