What did Jesus write in the sand?
Nowhere does it tell me
what word
or symbol
or sign,
understood only
by the righteous…?
That’s why I don’t know.
It matters not, really
it halted their insults
and hushed the jeering crowd…
And when He stood,
tall and strong,
and spoke
clear and direct
His words hit their hearts
with a quiet, petrified pause…
Perhaps today we need
once again
Jesus
to write those words in the sand…
