I am irritable, restless and discontent.
I am annoyed, frustrated and indignant.

The emptiness flooding through my soul
brings about so much anguish.
The bleakness within my heart
warns me away from self-reliance.

I ask You, Dear Lord, to save me…
Save me from myself…
Save me from the lies of the enemy…
Save me from the darkness that settles in to wait…

…waiting to lash out at others.
…waiting to spread the hate.

Save me, Dear Lord, from all these things
that pull me away from You.
Please save me, Dear Lord,
I beg of You,
and hold me up anew.
