I pray today
that all the addicts
and those who love them
will find their way to
welcomed recovery…

I pray today
that the lying disease
of intoxication and denial
will lead those suffering
to desperately cry out
“Help me, dear Lord!”

I pray today
that the self that holds him back
and the ego that keeps her from listening
will sit this day out
to make room for
the bright light of God’s Grace…

I pray today
that when he walks in the door
or she calls my number
my attitude will be in place
to receive
to accept
to love until love can return…

Dear Lord, I pray,
in a state of endless gratitude,
for You to use me
to reach each one
as they reached me.
