You Are Worth It

Lately, I’ve been talking to a few people who have been willing to do anything to change their lives for the better. They have been willing to follow direction completely – sometimes without struggling against it, other times through gritted teeth and angry scowls. But they are willing and they are following a path that is new and different and really uncomfortable. Why do they do this? Is it because they know they are worth every ounce of energy it is taking them to get better? No. Is it because they know that they are worth my time and serenity as I try to guide them to happier and more peaceful ways of living? No. It is because they have been given the gift of desperation and faith. They are tired of who they are and who they have been; and they believe that what has worked for me in my journey towards peace and self-acceptance will work for them. So they listen and follow direction.

When I look back on the first days, months, and years of my newly surrendered life, I am amazed by the directions from others that I was willing to follow blindly. I so desperately wanted to feel better, that I was willing to set aside everything I thought I knew about my life and try something different. It was rarely easy to do, but it was – and I was – worth every ounce of energy it took me to get to where I am today. Furthermore, I was worth every ounce of patience, guidance, and wisdom that those beautiful souls who helped me gave. That’s right, I said it. I was worth the patience it took those people to talk with me when I was being stubborn and close-minded. I was worth the guidance they offered as I walked a foggy path toward healthy living. I was worth the wisdom they shared, never knowing if I was absorbing their words or only complying.

We are all worth living a peaceful life. Everyone is entitled to a loving relationship with their Higher Power – whatever or whoever that might be.
What holds you back from reaching out, asking for help, taking that first step? Are you afraid? Are you angry? Are you unwilling to change? Whatever it is, you are worth setting it aside in order to find a way of life that is more fulfilling, more peaceful, and filled with more love than you can even imagine. All you have to do is look around at the people who cross your path each day. Is there someone whose calm demeanor you envy? Is there someone whose eyes just seem to glow when you talk to them? Is there someone who doesn’t seem to worry – ever?! When you see those people, ask them how they got that way. Then ask them to help you find your way there.

You are worth it!
