The Only Answer*

Rarely do I ask
the way I once did –
why, oh why, oh why, my Lord?

The desire to know
subtly removed from me,
in waves of
ebb and flow
and
flow and ebb
and
crash and land
upside down
and
inside out
sand in pants
and
stinging eyes
my heart on fire
my soul’s desire
now
just for His –
His Way
His Love
His Suffering –
His Peace
His Light
my suffering
– in Him –
not suffering at all –
for,
I seek Him there
and everywhere –
the
only
Answer.
