When I gaze at a majestic waterfall
taking in the peaceful blanket of mist
and soothing aroma of its foliage frame,
do I think also of God’s amazing image
in my fellow man?
When my mind and heart are calmed of incessant fretting
by the innocent and faithful song
of the morning birds,
do I praise God also for His impeccable work
in creating my friends?
When the cares of a day melt into
the succulent hues of the setting sun,
do I give thanks also for
the laughter I’ve shared with my sister,
noticing the intimacy God created in a lifelong bond?
It takes little to notice the magnificent hand of God
on a sculpted mountain range
or to recognize His power
in the crashing waves of the sea,
but that which He made VERY good
often takes more than a gaze to see.
