Dear God: 
May I see today what You see – 
in myself and in others – 
so that I may be 
as You created me to be, 
and I may love with the heart of Christ – 
generously. 
Protect the eyes of my heart 
from pride and ego and selfishness, 
so that someone in need 
may come to know You today – 
even if that be me. 
For it is especially when 
I think I know 
something or someone 
that I am most often made victim 
of my own conceit.
