You Were Always There 

I have reached for You 
in a million different ways – 
so many of them 
diseased
or 
frightened
or 
belligerent
or 
dismayed – 
all while Your Spirit 
within me
prayed 
the words I could not say: 

“I am Yours
dear Lord.
With You, I am not afraid.” 

It sounded like groaning to me 
but now I know – 
it was You, growing in me.

  1. This is really impactful that the Spirit in me was speaking truth even when may appear childish or selfish. Yes! God always showed compassion seeing the pain under my bad behavior
