In this next step –
may I see my own feet
in Your sandals,
brushed clean of the dust
of man’s
doubt and fear and disgust –
may my toes be strong enough
to grasp hold of
these too-big shoes
that know the Way –
to walk as You walk
to see as You see
to love as You love –
and I pray You will be patient
as I will often shuffle slowly
just to stay connected.
