A Prayer for When We Sit Together

Dear God:
You know my heart better than I know it myself.
You know my mind better than I know it myself.
What must You think of me, when You look into my soul: all jealousy, judgment, and fear on display?
I would try to hide from You, if I thought that fruitful; but I know You see me everywhere,
anywhere, inside-out, and in-between.
So, I come to You now, unabashedly confident in Your love for me – for how else could You stay by my side if not for Love?
Let’s sit for a while – and maybe figure some things out – or maybe just sit.
More than knowing things, I’d really like to see Your smile and hold Your hand – or maybe just feel Your breath like a summer breeze laced with honeysuckle, and the coo of a dove.
How often I know You have been present just as I fall into a deep slumber at night, or right before my eyes open to the morning light.
That knowing – that is where I’d like to be when we sit together this time.
Might that be possible?
