Our Father*

The model we have for
Our Father
is most often the wall
that keeps us separated.

For too long we have seen
Our Father
as
my father.

Until it is dropped –
this human stain
this confined belonging
this absolute understanding –
the wall will stand
sturdy and tall.

Only when we open
to the unknown reality
the family of all nations
and
the fluid Creator of all things
will the barricade of separateness
finally fall.
