After the fall, there is the rescue
and the relief and the peace
that come from salvation – 
and that is glorious – oh so glorious – 
right up to the moment 
when distraction appears
in the form of a tidal wave
or even a tiny weed in the freshly tilled garden.
The gloriousness balloon always pops
when my eyes are diverted from 
my Savior.
