Forgive me, God,
for my distraction 
in prayer – 
and even as I write
these words! 
Forgive me, God, 
for allowing the world
to enter into 
our time together
and 
keep me from 
communion with You.
Forgive me, God,
for writing these words 
to alleviate my guilt
and 
move on with my day.
Forgive me, God, 
for being me,
the teeny-tiny 
me 
that wanders aimlessly
in search of anything
to fill the void.
Especially now,
dear God,
I need Your forgiveness – 
because I know – 
even in all this 
distraction
worldliness
guilt
and
wandering – 
I know – 
You
Are
Everything!
