The cool, crisp air 
rushed over my face
and
I knew instantly
why I had been 
so snarky
before leaving the house – 
I was in 
desperate need
of
the breath of the earth
the light of the sky
the sound of silence… 
One can only go 
so long
without being held
by
nature’s embrace.
