Dear God:
 I pray today for unity, as in the feeling of, and security in Your community.
 I read about Your first disciples and I know that they did not agree with each other on everything, and in fact, some did not even like each other.  Yet, they set aside their differences in order to follow You and carry the message of love You provided.
 I pray for that type of selflessness in our world today.  The selflessness that allows me to be present for those whose opinions may be different than my own – and the selflessness that allows those who disagree with me to be present for me.
 I ask You, God, to help us all – not to ignore our differences – but to be able to set them aside so we can return to kindness in our daily interactions, and respect for a mind that thinks differently than our own. 
 I pray that You will fill our hearts with the Love for our brothers and sisters that You carry so naturally.
 Dear God, I want to be willing and able to be present for all others as You have always been present for me.  
 I pray for Your amazing Grace to show us the way.
