As I go forth from here
I pray,
fill my heart
and my mind
and my soul
only with
that which is helpful!
Helpful to heal
the division of the world.
Helpful to relieve
the selfishness of my heart.
Helpful to lift
the darkness of another.
Remind me, Lord,
throughout the day today,
that this is what I requested –
only to be helpful!
Equip me, Lord,
within my heart today,
to carry out this desire –
only to be helpful!
Bless me, dear Lord,
only with
that which is helpful!
