Dear God:
I pray today
that the need to blame
and shame
and point our fingers
will soon end.
I pray that instead
we will find a way,
even in our disagreements,
to be kind to all.
You have asked us to love one another,
as you have loved us,
and in this week of remembrance
you show us just how to do that
over and over again.
Why do we still struggle so with this concept?
Help us find a way
to love one another
– all one anothers –
even those we hate.
I do believe
our very lives
just might depend on it
right now!
