It Is There

Once it was there
only
with vibrant autumn leaves,
so painfully short a season
was the fall.

Sometimes it would return briefly
in
the silence of falling snow,
or
behind a fluttering V of honking geese far above,
but then again,
whisked away so swiftly
by a thundering plow
or the threat of winter’s brutality.

Thankfully something happened
during one of those seasons
of endless, lonely nights
and now…

It
Is
Everywhere
All
The
Time!

From the whispering chirps of the earliest birdies
to the glorious glow of white moon light,
It comes to me
now
all day
and
all night!

Speaking gently in clouds bumping together
and
suddenly lighting the whole world with a jagged string of might…

Nesting sweetly in warm rays of rejuvenating spring
and
quickly multiplying into a colony of long-ears and curious whiskers…

Loving tenderly even when my heart is empty
and
unknowingly gathering It in daily walks amongst the living…

It Is There!

Everywhere!

All The Time!
