Dear God,
As I seek your face,
prepare me for the light of it,
for the amazement
and the awe-inspiring love of it.
I know I cannot bring myself,
my human self,
to the place I need to be
to accept with grace and humility
all the love that you are.
As I keep seeking,
and I will – for I so desire to be closer to you –
prepare me, God,
as only you can,
to receive the beauty and peace that you are.
