You Are There

In the homeless man,
the beggar in need,
You are there.
In the mighty oak,
that sturdy old tree,
You are there.

In the newborn babe,
the one with no sight,
You are there.
In the spring tulips,
their beacon of light,
You are there.

In love nearly gone,
the years lived with trust,
You are there.
In hate left behind,
its trouble unjust,
You are there.

In my head and heart,
the soul given me,
You are there.
In their head and heart,
the souls always free,
You are there.
