Spirit

In the feathers of birds that have fallen from the sky
In the puddle from last night’s rain
In the scent of autumn in the air
In the chirp of crickets surrounding
In the scurry of the chipmunk hoarding acorns
In the flutter of the bluejay’s wings
In the bright white light of the moon
In the brilliance of the morning sun
In the hush of freshly fallen snow
In the crash of tiding waves
In the mew of kittens just born
In the greens of leaves and bushes and grasses breezing through summer days
In the radiance of sunflowers dancing
In the calm of the dusk that settles the day
In the power of the thunder claps
In the newness of ducklings fuzzy with life
In the first heartbeat of a newborn
In the labored breath of a dying man
Spirit soars and wraps and weaves and carries and cares and understands
In the darkness of the soul at night
Spirit cleanses and renews
In the steps of every man’s journey
Spirit Loves
